KEN NWAFOR, CPA

Ken Nwafor is a high-performing executive with over eighteen years of financial management experience. He has demonstrated proficiency in public financial management, budgeting, staff development, and program management. He is an accomplished professional with the pedigree to deliver mission-critical results. Ken was appointed by the Governor of Maryland to serve on the Board of Injured Workers Insurance Fund with total combined asset is $1.8 billion in December 2012.  He has also managed financial operations of public entities, such as the District of Columbia government and agencies, and Prince George’s County Public Schools in Maryland.

His areas of knowledge and expertise include: Financial and strategic planning, Grants management, Risk management and internal controls, Capital/Debt issuance and management, Budget development, monitoring and reporting, Accounting and financial operations analysis, Financial statement preparation and audit readiness, Complex business and tax issues, Project management, including IT implementation, Business process reengineering and business development, and Procurement and contracts management.

Ken holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of District of Columbia and is also a Certified Public Accountant.
