Description: The Senior Manager is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of federal engagements, including, overseeing the development of detailed work plans, monitoring the progress of the engagement, overseeing the drafting of reports, providing outstanding service to the client, and maintaining constant communication with their team. Managers are integrally involved in informing clients of the project status and in the submission of the deliverables.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance, training and share knowledge with team members.
  • Manage a team of professionals delivering services to U.S. Federal government clients ensuring engagements are carried out and completed timely and on budget.
  • Review draft deliverables prepared by engagement teams and present results to management.
  • Monitor the pProvide subject matter technical knowledge in financial management areas of financial reporting, internal controls, audit, and financial business systems.
  • rogress of the engagement and help resolve accounting, auditing, and reporting problems as needed.
  • Work with the team and the client to create plans for accomplishing engagement objectives and a strategy that complies with professional standards and addresses the risks inherent in the engagement.
  • Brief the engagement team on the client's environment and industry trends.
  • Demonstrate excellent project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members.
  • Use current technology/tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services.
  • Develop and sustain solid relationships with client personnel and identify opportunities to provide additional services.
  • Support firm internal growth initiatives through contributing to the proposal development process, identifying capture and business development opportunities, and contributing to marketing efforts.
  • Lead/contribute to the development and evolution of methodologies, solutions, and intellectual capital, including articles, whitepapers, and training efforts.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field from an accredited college/university required, Master’s Degree preferred.

CPA certification required, CGFM, CDFM, or Certified Internal Auditor desirable

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of seven years of experience in government financial management, focusing on Federal auditing in accordance with Government Accountability Office Yellow Book, Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) Standards and other pertinent requirements
  • Experience conducting/ leading financial statement audits of federal entities
  • Experience in the assessment and reporting of internal controls
  • Strong understanding of business processes, project management methodologies, and leading practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Extensive experience leading teams and managing projects within a collaborative environment
  • Skilled at using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and automated work paper software
  • Must be able to multi-task and work well under tight deadlines
  • Able to perform work which requires attention to detail, analytical ability, and organization
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally when needed. Up to 10-20% in a post-COVID-19 environment
  • U.S Government Clearance eligible and U.S. Citizenship
